Hey Mikayla, good video! Are all the animals at Wolf Run previously abused, and if not, where do they get them and how do they determine which to keep? They probably don't shelter every stray animal that they find, so what is the process like?
Good question, Tevis! Not all of the animals taken in at the refuge have been previously abused. Often, the owners simply do not have the means to take care of the animals and bring the animals to the refuge, or perhaps the wild animal has been injured and needs a place to live or to be rehabilitated. Those that have found or taken the animal in will then contact the refuge. The refuge tries to take in as many animals as possible, and I know they release many back into the wild if it is possible and safe for the animal, allowing more room at the refuge.
